EQ Saints

We are offering a new Faith Formation/Youth Ministry program beginning 2024-2025, called EQ Saints or “Equipping the Saints.” EQ Saints exists to “equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:11-12).

EQ Saints is a mentoring, relationship-based approach to teaching the Catholic Faith to teens. In small groups, teens work together to learn about the fundamentals of Catholicism and how to share their faith with others. This year we begin with Year 1 of a 4-year program called, “Equipped for Life”:

• Year 1: Encounter - An introduction to the Christian life, this section is evangelistic in nature, taking young people from skepticism and doubt to a personal profession of faith in Jesus Christ.

• Year 2: Discipleship - Developing the foundational habits of Christian life, from the establishment of personal prayer time to the teachings of the Church, to worship and community (Acts 2:42).

• Year 3: Ambassadors - Becoming an ambassador for Christ. Taking up the ministry of the Church to reconcile all things in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20) and to serve the marginalized (Matthew 25:31-46).

• Year 4: Beyond - Moving deeper into the Christian mystery to take on the mind of Christ (Romans 12:2). Building the skill and practice of Christian discernment and introducing the lives of the Saints as a guide for full maturity in Christ.

The cost for 2024-2025 is $30/student. No Sacred Heart Parish family will be turned away from participating in our Faith Formation programs due to financial need; contact Debbie Adams for more information.

EQ Saints meets weekly on Tuesdays from 6 to 7:30 pm, beginning October 1, 2024.
