Catholics in good health are to observe the following practices during Lent:
Fasting:  Catholics 18-59 are obliged to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, having one full meal and up to two smaller meals during the day.  
Abstinence:  All Catholics 14 years old and older must abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday and all the Fridays of Lent. Abstinence forbids the use of meat, but not of eggs, milk products or condiments made of animal fat.

Sacred Heart Sing-a-Long.  All ages are welcome to join us in the church to sing songs following the Church's liturgical year.

Wednesday, February 22
NO Daily Mass at 9 AM while Father is out of town.  However, there WILL be Mass on Friday, Feb. 24th at 9 AM. 

Saturday, February 25 at 5 PM
Celebration of Mass of Confirmation at Sacred Heart.  Nineteen candidates will be confirmed - 6 from our parish along with 13 from neighbor churches.  Please pray for all the candidates for confirmation as they near the end of their preparation.

Forty Days for Life
Tuesdays in Lent, beginning March 7th. 40 Days for Life is a focused pro-life campaign which incorporates prayer, fasting, and peaceful vigil to end abortion.  Check the parish bulletin for how you can be involved.

Winter Hospitality Overflow
March 5th through March 11th.  We are excited to be able to host the homeless at St. Paul Lutheran Church again this year. St. Paul provides space for 24-30 single men to come off the streets during the coldest months of the year into a safe, dry, and warm environment where they can get a good nights sleep. Check the parish bulletin on ways you can help.
