What is YDisciple? 

YDisciple is a small group discipleship program for teens in grades 8 through 12. Teens meet with older youth mentors and adults who apprentice them in the disciplines of how to be a follower of Jesus Christ in the Catholic Church. The program uses video lessons to stimulate discussions about faith in the lives of teens, equipping them to deal with the challenges of living a life of faith in today’s secular climate.

YDisciple is designed to meet five fundamental needs of teens:

1. The need to be understood

2. The need to belong

3. The need to be transparent

4. The need to engage in critical thinking about faith and life

5. The need for guidance

YDisciple meets these needs by:

1. Creating an environment consisting of a small group of teenagers (5-8 teenagers), led by caring adult mentors, who trust one another and who meet regularly

2. Using thought-provoking videos and well-crafted discussion questions to engage the teens

3. Empowering parents to take initiative in meeting the needs of their teenagers

The cost for 2023-24 is $35/student. No Sacred Heart Parish family will be turned away from participating in our Faith Formation programs due to financial need; contact Debbie Adams for more information.

YDisciple meets on Wednesdays from 6:15 to 7:30 pm.
The first session is Wednesday, October 11, 2023.
